The XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) version 2.0 is at the Candidate OASIS Standard stage. It offers a brand new structure with modules and many other aspects that should make it a lot easier to work with than version 1.2. 
The Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) is a set of attributes and elements designed to help the internationalization and localization of XML material. It is a W3C Recommendation.

The version 2.0 has been published by the Multilingual Web LT Working Group. This latest version includes new features such as Localization Quality Issues and Rating, MT Confidence, Locale Filter, Text Analysis, and much more.
